The desk does not sell placement. A maker cannot buy a review, a score, or the Best Car Gadget citation. We do not run affiliate links, and we do not take a fee to move a product up or down a list.
News pieces are reported and explained by the editor whose name is on them. Gadget pieces are hands-on. If we have not installed it, driven with it, and tried to break the habit it asks for, we do not score it. The method sits in How we test. If you see a factual error, write to the editor. The path is on the imprint. We append a dated note. We do not quietly rewrite the record.
