Lamborghini the car company was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini. He was already a maker of tractors. The factory is in Sant'Agata Bolognese, a small town near Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna. That is still the home of the cars.
The part we will not embroider
There is a famous tale about a clutch and a dispute that pushed him from tractors into supercars. It is told often. We have not verified it, so it does not go in the piece. What we will print is plainer and sufficient. A tractor manufacturer started a sports-car firm in 1963, in that town, and named it for himself.
The mark is a bull. Many of the model names are bulls or bullfighting words. That naming habit is public and consistent, and it is more useful to a reader than the legend. Today the company is part of the Volkswagen Group, through Audi. We are not going to narrate the sale. The present fact is the ownership. The origin fact is Sant'Agata, 1963, Ferruccio, tractors first.
